Alastar Kerpel recently graduated from California State University:
East Bay with a major in business administration, minor in
international business and focus in finance. He had originally attended
Carleton University (Ottawa, Canada) during his freshman year but did
not find the university to be an efficient fit. In 2003 and 2004 he
lived in Warsaw, Poland and attended the Warsaw University: Polonicum
as a Rotary Youth Ambassador. Alastar has chosen to live abroad because
of his belief that it would add synergistic value (to an International
Business minor) and increase his likelihood of succeeding in the future.
Alastar is a young maverick in the making. He previously spent
approximately a year and a quarter in the cable and Internet sales
field. During which time, he led the firm to subscriber base success in
opening new accounts. After being trained by a former HBO test
marketing guru, Alastar recorded his most profitable day consisting of
thirty two unit subscriptions. While at Alameda Power & Telecom,
now Alameda Municipal Power, Alastar wore various hats which grew upon
his previous experience in freelance computer consulting.
Alastar is constantly following the financial markets and
news. He regularly demos systems by means of paper trading as a way to
learn more. Arbitrage is one of his favorite strategies. Between his
budding fondness of the capital markets and entry level sales
experience, he would like to be a fund manager. Until that day comes,
keep your ear to the grindstone.
