Bored with run-of-the-mill opportunities? Want to join a fun, agile team and take a shot at something big? Zamplify is an early-stage start up launching an innovative social network product in the online music space. Social music products are hot right now, with the search for a new business model in the music space. Lots of new and growing companies such as Turntable.fm, Spotify, Pandora, MOG and Rdio have managed to raise large rounds of financing, and Facebook is now going into music too. Zamplify plays nice and complements them as well as traditional labels.
Some of our key assets: founded by two ambitious alumni from Stanford and UofT (a winner of Facebook app competition), patent pending IP on key social networking technology, incorporated in both the U.S. and Canada with prior fundraising experience, and a web product that’s 75% complete. If you always wanted to be part of the next big hit, this is an opportunity to join a team with a good chance at it.
The person we are seeking is a hard-working web developer. First task will be to finish the development of the website. This is a full-time paid contract position with a strict 2 month timeline. We plan for this to turn into a permanent position if things work out.
You must master PHP, Javascript, jQuery, and AJAX. Knowledge of wordpress architecture, web architecture, security and scalability will be highly valued too. You are comfortable with learning and understanding existing code bases in order to improve and re-factor them.
You will work from home (or wherever you want, really) and must be available for daily communications and able to deliver on time. One of our founders is in NY and the other in Toronto so one of those locations would be a plus so we can meet face-to-face sometimes too. SF/Bay area also a plus. We prefer full-time but would accept 2 persons half-time if you can get things done as per roadmap.
