Techie Web Developer (Front-end)

Are you constantly dreaming up fun web projects and trying out the latest trends in web technologies? Do you enjoy pushing the limits of JavaScript and manipulating the DOM to your will? Have you developed a love/hate relationship with various scripting languages and web MVC frameworks?

Loopt is seeking creative and motivated client-side web developers to rapidly define and implement fun new features for Loopt’s web experience.

Experience:

• JavaScript (OOP, AJAX & DOM): a lot of the Loopt web experience comes to life with client-side javascript, so extensive experience is a must-have.
• HTML and CSS: a good sense of web UI design and the ability to implement it across the various browsers is key!
• Ruby On Rails: a good understanding of the MVC architecture is crucial.  Experience with a comparable web MVC framework is okay, but willingness to learn Ruby and Rails is essential!
• 2+ years working on professional or personal web application projects

Bonus:

• Illustrator – Web Designer skills
• Google Maps API: we will make heavy use of javascript mapping APIs.
• Mobile Web: we will continue to extend our website to work on various mobile phones. Some experience with web development on the iPhone, Smartphones, etc. using iUI, XHTML Mobile, WML, etc. would be nice.
