The Sales Engineer will be a product expert for Extole opportunities with traditional sales engineering responsibilities. This person will use prescriptive measures to assess a prospect’s business and recommend potential application of Extole’s products or services and offers solutions that meet prospect’s needs. This individual will use technical and product knowledge to support and build sales. He/she will work closely with others on the Extole team including Sales Executives, Campaign and Customer Success Managers and the Product team, transferring knowledge gained during the sales cycle to those individuals to ensure campaigns are built and launched in accordance with the customer’s needs. This person is required to balance multiple prospect customer interactions in both a B2B and B2C environment. Requires familiarity with a variety of marketing/social media practices, and procedures. This person relies on his/her experience and judgment to plan and accomplish goals. A wide degree of creativity and latitude is expected. The ideal candidate is located in the San Francisco/Bay Area and thrives in fast-paced, startup environments.
Responsibilities include:
- Work in partnership with sales to understand the needs of the account and design/establish the appropriate Extole solution(s) and strategies.
- Serve as the product expert and resource for new opportunities with sales team.
- Be a credible subject matter expert in trends in online campaigns and social media.
- Participate in all product, sales, and process training and certification to acquire and maintain the knowledge necessary to be effective.
- Respond effectively to RFPs leveraging product, technical and security related responses.
- Become knowledgeable expert of Extole’s suite of applications and functionality
- Be confident in presenting and articulating business value and competitive positioning of the Extole C2C Social Marketing Platform.
- Travel to prospect customer locations to present demonstrations and represent Extole products as needed.
- Be an innovator who can create new solutions using out-of-the-box thinking.
Qualifications/Skills:
- Great eye for consumer and technical userflow and consumer experience
- Strong understanding of technical aspects of online advertising/operations business.
- Ability to work independently or as part of a team to solve business and technical problems.
- Multi-tasking and strong prioritization skills required including ability to manage several client’s interactions per month.
- Agency, interactive media, social media or ad network background.
- Solid verbal, written, presentation and interpersonal communication skills.
- Strong organizational and data-driven analytic skills with a keen attention to detail.
- A bachelor’s degree in area of specialty and a minimum of 2 years of experience in the field or in a related area.
