Job Description

passionate QA engineer who loves testing great products. Our team is fast, smart and independent. You will work on multiple projects that include testing customer-facing web applications, applications that utilize Facebook, Twitter and other third party social service APIs.

Experience Requirements:

  • 5+ years QA experience in distributed web-based, client/server environments required. Experience with Ruby & JavaScript technologies highly desirable.
  • Java Application Server & Web Server experience required. Must have at least 3 years experience with Tomcat, JBOSS or some other Java server technology.
  • Must be familiar with working in Unix shells (bash, ksh, etc.) and basic UNIX commands.
  • Must have experience with HTTP protocol based applications in a debugging context (IE/Fiddler, Firefox/Firebug, etc.) and front-end & middle-tier technologies typically used (CSS, JSP, Ruby, PHP, HTML, etc.)
  • Must have demonstrable SQL knowledge and experience, enough to perform basic CRUD operations.
  • Standard Functionality, Regression, System, Integration & ad hoc testing experience and debugging skills.
  • Should be fully capable of Test Case & Test Plan creation and execution, including boundary testing, negative testing, data type testing, positive testing, etc.
  • Knowledge of real life QA processes, standards and procedures as well as Software Development Life Cycle, both in a classic software development sense (Waterfall) and a rapidly evolving and growing company sense (Agile).
  • Solid analytical, problem solving skills as well as excellent written and oral communication skills.
  • Fully capable of creating valid estimates regarding effort for tasks; can communicate and manage adjustments as well as able to effectively organize and prioritize multiple tasks.
  • Must have experience with and be comfortable testing without functional requirements and within short release cycles.
  • Experience working in a dynamic, start-up environment preferred.
