GivingSomeThing helps donors send real goods to nonprofits and is looking for a lead developer to head their development operations. This job puts you on an open-minded, energetic, and motivated team of social entrepreneurs in the early stages of building a new, innovative source for online donations. GivingSomeThing was recently incorporated in August, 2011 and will launch in early-November, 2011. Design and development have been contracted to a superb group in California through initial launch and a full-time developer is needed to continue their work and further innovate this brand new donation source for nonprofits.
Desired Skills and Experience:
- Expert LAMP skill set and experience
- Skilled knowledge of Drupal
- Capable in HTML, JavaScript, and CSS
- Knowledge of XML, JSON, JQuery, Ajax are a bonus
- An innovative, creative mind
- Hard-working, and committed personality
- Someone who believes in giving back to others and wants to make a difference
- Someone who wants to grab a beer or two after a hard day’s work.
Work from home is okay as long as you live in the area, but we expect a full-time commitment

GivingSomeThing helps donors give tangible goods to nonprofits, improving the connections that a donor has to a nonprofit, while increasing the donor base of the nonprofit.
There are three steps:
- Create a Wishlist: Nonprofits create a Wishlist on GivingSomeThing with the exact goods that they need.
- Supporters Give: Donors browse Wishlists, add goods to their Give Basket, and checkout with a credit card.
- Goods Ship: Nonprofits receive a notification email, the donor receives a receipt for tax-deduction purposes, and our suppliers ship the goods directly to the nonprofit’s address.
