Job Description
Heroku is one of the fastest growing startups in cloud computing. We believe in making decisions based on data, which means collecting it the right way, interpreting it and being able to turn it into action. We are looking for an analytical champion to structure and robustify the sales funnel.
As Growth Engineer you will be responsible for optimizing the user and customer experience on the Heroku.com web site, and being a subject-matter expert in business intelligence. You will be responsible for the following:
- Drive the creation of a metrics dashboard for the Heroku web site and for the overall sales funnel
- Be the owner of these reports and refresh them on an ongoing basis
- Design and run AB tests across web properties, working with the web team to implement and iterate
- Create and manage customer development and retention strategies with a programmatic approach, dealing with tens of thousands of customers at various stages in their lifecycle
- Present findings and recommendations for optimization to the management team and develop freedom over time to make direct changes as necessary
- Design and run surveys
This is a high impact role at Heroku. You should have the following experience:
- Technical background in at least one of these fields: online marketing, engineering, computer science, mathematics, statistics
- Working knowledge of SQL and databases to directly mine information
- Technical and practical knowledge of AB “split” testing
- Business acumen to interpret, synthesize data and communicate it
- Understanding of online business models
- Prior experience in entrepreneurial environments
- Bachelor degree in a scientific field; MBA and PhD optional
