Business Intelligence Analyst
Raptr is looking for an outstanding, highly motivated Business Intelligence Analyst to join our team. The individual we are looking for must have a passion for all things data. This person shall be responsible for analyzing usage patterns for our suite of products (web, client, mobile) to help us make better product, marketing, and business decisions.
Raptr has millions of users and tracks over a billion hours of gameplay data per month across multiple platforms. There is a lot of rich data to mine!
Job Responsibilities:
- Design, develop and produce weekly user experience dashboard mapping quantitative and qualitative trends
- Retrieve and analyze data from server logs, online experiments (A/B testing), instrumented products, gameplay sessions, etc.
- Model user behavior based upon previous findings and the most relevant available data.
- Meaningfully contribute to the evolution of tools for tracking and understanding user behavior.
- Interface with key internal clients and project stakeholders to ensure available data is applied for its best use to the organization.
- Conduct proactive deep analysis and modeling to uncover hidden opportunities
- In true start-up fashion, there will certainly be other responsibilities not included in this list
Job Qualifications:
- 2+ years of relevant hands on experience, preferably in banking, consulting, technology or retail
- Advanced statistical training and thorough practical experience modeling behavior from data. A thorough understanding of the associated strengths and weaknesses of different statistical analysis approaches.
- Excellent advanced SQL skills: including extensive experience querying large, complex data sets.
- Solid knowledge of statistics and able to perform analysis in R, SAS or SPSS proficiently.
Strong modeling and forecasting skills, including practical experience of relevant algorithms (e.g. Monte Carlo Simulation) - Some experience with programming languages: Python, Perl or PHP a plus
- Sound research judgment developed through practice, i.e., the ability to appropriately match research or analysis methods to questions of interest.
- An ability to deal and thrive with imperfect, mixed, varied, and inconsistent multiple data sets
- Good knowledge of Excel including macros, pivot tables, vlookups, charts and graphs
- Strong project management skills
- Excellent data reporting and presentation skills.
- Motivated self-starter
- B.A. or B.S. in Mathematics, Statistics, Economics, Computer Science, and/or Engineering Sciences – Master’s Degree a plus
- Experience doing data analysis for web products and services a plus
- Knowledge of the gaming industry a plus but not required for this position
