Job Description:
The Director of Product Management for Data Robotics is the expert for all of the company’s products, and will be the primary driver and resource for the rest of the organization as it relates to the company’s products. This person will have a deep mastery of market requirements, product strategy, the technology foundation for all products, industry and technology trends and the competitive environment. This role will be responsible for understanding and communicating the value proposition of the products, and will be expected to participate in executive briefings. The Director of Product Management for Data Robotics is expected to be a working manager while leading the group, participating in meeting planning and execution, development of product requirement documentation (PRD), and be completely immersed in development. A key component of this role is the ability to work jointly with Engineering and Product Marketing, as well as to manage cross departmental activities.

Duties & Responsibilities:

Interpreting the creative vision of the company founder and translating this vision into highly successful products
End to end ownership of the company’s products from creative vision to end of life
Product positioning
PRD creation and management
Process development as it relates to Product Management and cross functional activities
Roadmap planning and communication
Product pricing and margin analysis
Competitive analysis
Product training (Support, Sales, others as required)
Program reviews to update ExecStaff on the status of all programs, including assessment of risk factors impacting the expected product launch
Departmental budgeting
Weekly departmental updates
Other duties as required

The Role

Position Summary

Reporting to the VP of Engineering & Product Management, the Product Manager/Director will be a subject matter expert for the online display advertising industry, perform competitive analyses, gather market requirements, author product requirement document (PRDs), assist with product marketing, and provide pre-sales support and post-sales training.

Responsibilities

As part of the Product Management team, this person will be responsible for the design, workflow and usability of Turn's next generation media optimization platform. This is a highly interactive role, requiring the Product Manager/Director to work closely with external clients and internal subject matter experts for requirements gathering and PRD authoring, an interface designer for developing the information architecture and wireframe prototypes for new system interfaces, software engineering during the development of technical specifications, and the Marketing and Sales organizations in the creation of appropriate product marketing and user training materials.

Required Skills

5-8 years of Product Management experience developing the technology platform for an online ad network, SEM vendor, 3rd party ad serving, rich media, or analytics technology provider
User interface design experience including functional requirements gathering, user analysis, information architecture, prototyping and usability testing
Working knowledge of 3rd party ad servers (Atlas, DFA) and display advertising exchanges (Right Media, Adx)
Experience authoring MRDs and PRDs for business software delivered in a hosted service environment
Exceptional written, verbal communications and presentation skills

Preferred Skills

Prior experience working with ad agency media planners and buyers
Prior Product Management experience in an Agile development environment
Aptitude for working with internal and external stakeholders to define requirements and quantify market opportunities - then driving them to realization
Strong organizational skills, with the ability to manage different groups and personalities to achieve consensus

We are seeking an experienced consumer tech professional to fill the key position of Director/Sr. Director of Product Management. The successful candidate will lead a team of product managers and be responsible for defining product strategy and driving Livescribe’s core product offerings – including smartpen, accessories, paper, software, & the paper-based multimedia platform.

Responsibilities:

Help develop, refine, and execute the product strategy and roadmaps for Livescribe’s next generation products.
Build, lead and coach a small team of highly effective product managers responsible for their individual product lines.
Manage the entire product lifecycle process for all product & service offerings.
Actively conduct primary market research to identify customer wants, needs, pain points, and new market opportunities, as well as validate proposed solutions.
Champion the voice of the customer in the development process.
Use customer feedback and other market research to develop actionable marketing documents including PRDs, MRDs, product plans and roadmaps.
Help evolve the product development process by creating high quality requirements documents, evangelizing them within the organization, and helping to manage the delivery of products against schedule.
Foster strong cross-functional teamwork among the Engineering, Support, Manufacturing, Sales and Marketing organizations.

Qualifications:

10+ years of product management experience in the consumer high tech industry.

Proven success in managing the development of hardware and software products from early customer research and concept development through definition and introduction.
Prior experience in delivering successful consumer high tech products for domestic & international markets.
