Looking for a senior software engineer with experience in media codec algorithm design and implementation. The ideal candidate should also have experience in design and implementation of networked media protocols like UPnP and media applications based on that. Our development environment is an embedded system environment, so experience in embedded development is major plus. Most of our development is done in C and C++ under Linux. Knowledge of SMP is a plus as our architecture is a multi-threaded environment. The candidate is expected to work as a technical lead in an energetic work environment.

Responsibilities:

• Development of networked media software in C/C++ and assembly
• Development & optimization of video and audio codec algorithms: MPEG2, MPEG4, H.264, AC3, MPEG2 audio etc.
• Analyze software performance, and resource utilization and propose and implement optimizations
• Work with hardware designers on the best split of hardware/software solutions to solve media performance problems and implement new capabilities
• Act as the software lead in your area, and mentor junior engineers

Requirements/Desired Experience:

• Strong working knowledge in video and audio codec algorithms & implementation: MPEG2, MPEG4, H.264, AC3, MPEG2 audio etc.
• Good working experience in UPnP protocols for Audio & Video and its use to distribute media. Working knowledge of DLNA requirements is a big plus
• Strong working knowledge in open source audio/video packages and libraries
• Experience in software development in Linux environment
• Experience in C/C++ programming, performance optimization and debug
• Experience in software development for embedded systems and big plus
• Team work and good communication a must for this position

Education:

• Master's degree or PhD with 3-5 years of software development experience required
