Position Summary:
As a member of the Managed Markets sales team, the Regional Account Manager (RAM) will play a key role in the sales and support of Tercica’s U.S. prescription business. The RAM is responsible for facilitating the introduction, education, and access / reimbursement of Increlex (rhIGF-1) and Somatuline Depot to Managed Care Organizations/ Commercial and Government Payers in his/her area of responsibility.
In conjunction with and supported by the regional sales team, the RAM will create and execute a business strategy for the payor market which results in end user access to Tercica products. Facilitates a network of relationships within the Managed Care/Payor community. Will utilize analytical skills to understand the payor market place and develop and execute their business plan. Help to educate and update the regional sales team on the managed care/payer markets and developments. Execute and Support Specialty Pharmacy, Wholesaler, MCO, Government and Hospital contracts as necessary to optimize Distribution Network. Develop strategies to increase reimbursement rates with key customers. Additionally the RAM will work closely with the National Account Executives (NAE’s) helping pull through National Account strategies / programs to Regional Account affiliates and Tercica Field Sales Team.
Experience and Education (minimums):
· B.S/B.A. (advanced degree a plus).
· 3 Years Regional or National Account Management experience.
· 8 years Pharmaceutical/Biotech sales, sales management and managed care account experience.
· Reimbursement experience and knowledge necessary.
· Excellent relationships with key regional payers.
· Track record of success in sales/managed account sales within the specialty bio-pharma area.
· Endocrine experience a plus.
· Launching of new product/start-up experience a plus.
· Niche/orphan drug experience a plus.

Primary Responsibilities:
· Driving payor access, sales, and Reimbursement of Tercica products.
· Education and working with the sales team to maximize revenues.

Supervisory Responsibilities:
This job has no direct reporting positions at present, but will be required to oversee operations at contract laboratories. As Tercica expands its operations this position may be required to supervise part-time or full time employees. This involves hiring talented staff and managing effective performance, by providing feedback, coaching and development opportunities.
