Linden Lab is making improvements to the downloadable Second Life client, which provides a rendered view of the 3D virtual world and a sophisticated user interface for navigation, search, text and audio chat, commerce, social networking, 3D modeling, and asset management.  
Client developers work on both small and large-scale projects to add new capabilities and interfaces, with the aim of making SL easier to use, more stable, more visually rich, and more useful.

Responsibilities:

• Collaborate with product design and technical staff to implement new user interfaces which are fast and easy to use.
• Maintain and overhaul existing software systems, with an emphasis on long-term maintainability and stability.
• Create interfaces with server-side infrastructure, including Second Life Simulators and web services.

Qualifications:

• Expert knowledge of C++ with 5+ years of professional experience.
• Expertise in data structures, algorithms, and complexity analysis.
• Deep knowledge of at least some of: OpenGL, user interfaces, networking, audio, systems architecture, multi-threaded design,  API design, and advanced profiling.
• Proficiency with cross platform development on Windows, Mac OS and Linux systems preferred.
• Ability to work in a collaborative environment on really  interesting problems.
• Exceptional problem solving and communication skills.
