We're seeking a brilliant IT support specialist/system administrator to focus on internal IT systems that enable the Lithium staff to perform at their best. We're looking for a passionate Microsoft professional that knows all the ins and outs of desktop and laptop computers and software. You'll be a primary support specialist for our Emeryville and remote staff and assist with back office system administration on the server side.
Requirements:
MCSE or equivalent knowledge and the ability to successfully apply the knowledge in real world situations
- Solid knowledge of laptop, desktop, and server hardware, and peripherals
- Basic computer networking skills
- Backup system management
- Excellent communications skills
- Ability to communicate technical information to both technical and nontechnical personnel
- Able to participate in on call rotation
- Must have working knowledge of: Web 2.0 technologies, AJAX, Three-tier web architecture (J2EE), HTML, and JavaScript
Desired Skills:
- Microsoft Exchange expertise
- Broad knowledge of IT security best practices
- Telephony experience and VoIP phone system knowledge
- Experience with tools such as Nagios, Cacti, Subversion, Jira, Confluence, and MySQL
- Experience with virtualization, preferably VMware
- Network hardware operating system experience, especially Cisco IOS
- Scripting experience - i.e. Perl, command, shell
- Basic Linux (RedHat, Ubuntu) and MacOS administration skills
- Vendor management and purchasing
- Basic Linux based services such as named, smtp, etc.
- BlackBerry server
- Mobile Device knowledge
